Twistcut: What is it and who is it for?
With a Twistcut, I twist individual sections of hair and cut them while they’re twisted. That gives soft transitions and volume that falls by itself, with no hard edges.

The technique
How the Twistcut works
With a classic cut, I comb a section smooth and cut a straight line. With a Twistcut, I twist the section first. That way the hairs sit at different lengths along the cutting line. Instead of a hard edge, you get a soft, flowing transition.
How much I twist and where I start depends on your hair. Sometimes it’s about more fullness on top, sometimes a lighter outline or more movement through the lengths. So before every Twistcut, I take a close look at how your hair grows, where the cowlicks sit and how you wear it day to day.
Who it’s for
Which hair is the Twistcut right for?
- Fine hair that quickly falls flat. The twist adds texture and visible fullness.
- Thick hair with hard edges. The cut takes out weight, and the shape becomes lighter.
- Anyone who likes it low-maintenance. Because the transitions are soft, the cut grows out naturally.
- Curls and waves need a special touch. Whether the Twistcut is right for you or another technique would be better, I’ll tell you honestly during your consultation.

Frequently asked questions about the Twistcut
Can I keep my length with a Twistcut?
Yes, you keep your length if you want to. The Twistcut isn’t a particular hairstyle but a cutting technique, and I use it on short and long hair alike.
How often should I have it trimmed?
We’ll decide that together, depending on your length and hair. Shorter cuts need reshaping sooner than long hair. Because the transitions are soft, a Twistcut grows out gently.
Is the Twistcut also for men?
Absolutely. In men’s cuts, the technique gives just the same soft transitions and extra texture.
How much does a Twistcut cost?
It depends on your hair length and the time involved. Give me a call and I’ll tell you the price for your hair.
